Amazon.com signed a lease for its second distribution and fulfillment center in Miami-Dade County, according to county records.
Flagler Global Logistics subsidiary SFLC Building 5 signed a lease with the Seattle-based web retailer for a facility that will be constructed in the South Florida Logistics Center at 3200 N.W. 67th Ave. It’s located on the west side of Miami International Airport.
Wells Fargo Bank recently provided a $13.5 million construction loan for Flagler’s SFLC Building 5 to build a 117,253-square-foot industrial building. The lease with Amazon.com said that in addition to the warehouse, it would have access to 240 parking spaces on the nine-acre site. The initial term of the lease is for seven and one-quarter years.
Miller Construction Co. is the general contractor on the project. Flagler Global Logistics is a subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries.
In 2015, Amazon.com opened its first Miami-Dade distribution center in a nearly 300,000-square-foot facility in the Doral area. The new location is not only close to the airport, it’s near State Road 826 and State Road 836, providing access to downtown Miami, Coral Gables, and Kendall, among other communities.
