LA-Based Cigar Company Opens New Distribution Center In Doral

While Tatuaje might be known as a Los Angeles-based cigar company, it now has a new distribution center in Doral.

Adding a Miami-area warehouse gives the company the opportunity to fulfill orders and optimize shipping costs and times for its retailers. The company says that the goal is to ship products to the eastern part of the country from Miami, while retailers in the western half will continue to receive their shipments from the company’s existing Los Angeles facility.

“We are really excited about this next chapter of Tatuaje,” said Pete Johnson, founder of Tatuaje Cigars, Inc. “Getting the product to the retailers quicker and saving them money on shipping and handling is something we have been talking about for years. We are happy that it finally came to fruition.”

While the Florida warehouse sent out its first shipments at the end of last week, it is still getting stocked up with Tatuaje’s full portfolio of cigars, a process that Johnson anticipates will take about a month or so. Previously, Tatuaje has shipped some of its limited release cigars from Miami as well as Los Angeles as a way to get the cigars to arrive at stores across the country at the same time, but as the company grew, it made sense to develop a facility capable of handing the company’s full portfolio.

“The facility is just for Tatuaje products as of now, but he might consider shipping brands outside the Tatuaje portfolio in the future,” said Johnson. “Certain specialty products will ship only from the new facility, never crossing the country to the Los Angeles warehouse. Being that the Miami product is made down the road, I realized I needed a home for it.”
