Publix Supermarkets acquired the site of its planned store in Downtown Doral for $4.77 million.
DDP Acquisitions, a subsidiary of Downtown Doral master developer Codina Partners, sold the 2.3-acre site to Publix. It’s on the west side of Doral City Hall at 8401 N.W. 53rd Terrace.
The price equates to $47 per square foot. The supermarket is expected to be 55,000 to 65,000 square feet.
Codina Partners announced in March that Publix would have the only supermarket in the 120-acre Downtown Doral Project, which will include 2,840 residential units, 400,000 square feet of office, a charter school and more than 70 stores and restaurants. The developer said the Publix would start construction in September and be completed in December 2017.
