Maersk extended its air freight operations footprint in April with the launch of a full-service, in-transit gateway solution in Miami. The new gateway will focus on transhipping European and Asian goods via Miami to Latin America, offering competitive freighter and passenger capacity.
Imports seen during 2020 appear to be headed toward a new record despite the coronavirus pandemic, and remain at high levels as 2021 begins, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report just released by the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates.
The Port said the growth in cargo is due to the $1.3 billion of infrastructure investments that include dredging the shipping channel and adding four super post-Panamax cranes, allowing the port to service larger cargo ships. CLICK ON THE HEADLINE FOR MORE
