A local logistics company has secured a 149,597-square-foot warehouse under construction near the border of Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Triton Logistics, a distribution and freight company, will relocate from its 75,000-square-foot facility in Doral to the project, which is slated for completion next year, at 3621 N.W. 114th Place, within Countyline Corporate Park in Hialeah.
Grether Ubeda, Triton Logistics’ VP of human resources, said her company’s business has expanded so much, it needed the additional space. Triton Logistics will hire up to 100 employees to staff the new space.
“We have just grown exponentially in the past couple of years. Covid was good for us instead of being bad for us,” Ubeda said, adding that the company will likely be hiring more drivers, warehouse workers, accountants, and office personnel.
At its current 75,000-square-foot location within Prologis Beacon Lakes Park in Doral, Triton Logistics pays about $17.50 a square foot in rent, Ubeda said. At Countyline Corporate Park, Triton will pay about $12 a square foot.
Industrial space has come under increasing demand in South Florida thanks in part to the migration of companies and employees to the region. This has resulted in companies leasing out new industrial space in South Florida before they’re even built.
