A South Florida logistics company is growing its footprint in Miami-Dade County with a new headquarters and a significantly larger warehouse.
Miami-based freight forwarder Onboard Logistics Group has signed a long-term sublease for 3,400 square feet of office space at 6303 Waterford District Drive, located in the Waterford Business District near Miami International Airport. The tenant was represented in the deal by Jake Gale, though financial terms were not disclosed. The company moved into the space earlier this month.
In a separate deal, Onboard Logistics also secured a long-term sublease for 75,000 square feet of industrial space at 1375 N.W. 129th Ave., within Prologis’ Beacon Lakes development near Sweetwater. The company handled that transaction without an outside broker. Financial details were not disclosed, and the move-in took place in February.
This expansion marks a step up from the company’s previous, smaller combined warehouse and headquarters elsewhere in Miami-Dade County.
“The new facilities reflect continued growth for the firm, which operates across Latin America, with a strong presence in Central America,” said Felipe Martinez, the company’s lead project coordinator and business development manager.
According to company figures, Onboard Logistics completed 100,000 shipments last year.
“The company employs about 400 people across the United States and more than a dozen countries in Latin America, including 60 employees in South Florida. Additional corporate hires are planned as part of the headquarters expansion,” said Martinez. “The Waterford Business District was selected for its proximity to Miami International Airport and its concentration of major companies such as Restaurant Brands International, ADP, Verizon, and Lennar. It’s ideal because we’re close to both our clients and other companies expanding into Latin America.”
With the addition of the new warehouse, Onboard Logistics now operates approximately 200,000 square feet of industrial space.
South Florida remains a major global logistics hub, driven by its strategic location near Latin America and its strong infrastructure, including Miami International Airport and PortMiami.
