Codina Partners is moving forward with plans for a new hotel in Downtown Doral, partnering with Mumbai-based MICL Global on a proposed 168-room hospitality project.
The hotel is expected to operate under Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand and would include commercial space as part of the development. Arquitectonica is designing the project, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
The proposal would bring a new lodging option into Downtown Doral, the 250-acre mixed-use community developed by Codina Partners. The district already includes residential units, restaurants, shops, office space, schools, civic uses and public gathering areas.
For Downtown Doral, the hotel would add another layer to the live-work-play environment that has taken shape west of Miami International Airport. It would also serve business travelers, visitors and guests drawn to the area’s restaurants, offices and residential community.
Codina Partners, led by Armando Codina and Ana-Marie Codina, has continued expanding Downtown Doral through new residential, retail and office additions. The hotel proposal represents the next step in broadening the district’s mix of uses.
